Stop Signs at Bridge Road Intersection
Stop signs are being added to the north- and southbound sides of Bridge Road at the Herring Brook Road intersection in response to safety complaints.
“For many years, the town of Eastham has been receiving complaints regarding the intersection of Bridge Road and Herring Brook Road being difficult to navigate and therefore dangerous,” according to an announcement posted on March 7 on the town website. The notice went on to cite “the poor sight lines of the intersection, and some of the speeds of the vehicles traveling on Bridge Road” as problems.
The new stop signs will go in this week, making that intersection a three-way stop. Electronic signs and other devices will be used to alert motorists to the changes. —K.C. Myers
