T-Time Lights Up
Santa is coming to the T-Time property on Route 6 at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 17. He will arrive by police cruiser, but don’t worry, he will not actually be in police custody.
According to an announcement by the town, he will be there to spread Christmas cheer as part of the town’s Light the Night Holiday Event at the 11-acre parcel the town now owns.
The celebration starts at 3 p.m. There will be refreshments and a last-minute chance to drop off letters for Santa as well as “reindeer games” and holiday crafts, according to the town.
At 4 p.m., there will be a lighting of nine gingerbread shacks. These are sheds used in the summer as beach gate attendant shacks that have been decorated by local businesses and community groups.
One day the T-Time property will have a mix of community, business, and residential uses, according to a draft of the town’s master plan. The select board and town administration are considering holding town meeting there or at the Little Creek parking lot on Doane Road because Nauset Regional High School, which usually hosts town meeting, will be unavailable during renovation expected to begin in February.
But for now, it is wide-open turf for municipal uses. —K.C. Myers
