Traffic Hearing on Long Pond Village
The developers of 46 affordable housing units at 95 Lawrence Road were not able to get traffic plans and paperwork filed with the zoning board of appeals in time for its Aug. 4 meeting, which means the hearing process for the development’s 40B application will be postponed two weeks.
Jay Coburn, CEO of the Community Development Partnership, told the ZBA he did not yet have the parking lot sketches, roadway plans, and a traffic study of roads surrounding the planned Long Pond Village.
ZBA Chair Sharon Inger agreed to reschedule the hearing on “circulation, public realm, and traffic” to Aug. 25.
During the rest of the hearing, members of the board alerted Coburn and Vitalia Shklovsky, senior project manager for the CDP’s development partner Preservation of Affordable Housing (POAH), to questions and requests for documentation they hope to address at future meetings. Among them are letters of approval from the Wellfleet police and fire depts. as well as the town’s board of health.
Due to the schedule change, subsequent hearings will be moved back one time slot: the review of the development’s septic and wastewater will now be Sept. 8, and a final meeting, where the board hopes to vote on the comprehensive permit the developers are requesting, will be Sept. 22. —Greta Magendantz
