Confirmed bird sightings on the Outer Cape in the week preceding the Independent’s deadline on Tuesday, Oct. 12 included the following, based on a report prepared by Mass Audubon’s Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary.
An adult Brown Booby passed Race Point in Provincetown on Oct. 10.
The Hooded Warbler caught last week continued at Wellfleet Bay sanctuary this week, where a Gray-Cheeked Thrush was also banded. A Great Crested Flycatcher and a Roseate Tern were also seen Wellfleet.
23 Lesser Black-Backed Gulls were sighted at Nauset Marsh in Eastham. Connecticut Warblers were also seen in town.
No word from Truro’s birdwatchers.
