Confirmed bird sightings on the Outer Cape in the week preceding the Independent’s deadline on Tuesday, Aug. 3 included the following, based on a report prepared by Mass Audubon’s Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary.
Race Point, Provincetown sightings included 3 Black Terns, 140 Roseate Terns, 1,200 Common Terns, 20 Wilson’s Storm-Petrels, 16 Cory’s Shearwaters, 300 Great Shearwaters, 22 Sooty Shearwaters, and 48 Manx Shearwaters.
A Little Blue Heron was seen in North Truro.
There were no sightings of birdwatchers in Wellfleet or Eastham this week.
