Confirmed bird sightings on the Outer Cape in the week preceding the Independent’s deadline on Tuesday, June 29 included the following, based on a report prepared by Mass Audubon’s Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary.
Sightings at Race Point in Provincetown included 2 Little Gulls, 2 Lesser Black-Backed Gulls, a Forster’s Tern, 2 Arctic Terns, 6 Roseate Terns, 6 Wilson’s Storm-Petrels, a Cory’s Shearwater, 2 Great Shearwaters, 9 Sooty Shearwaters, and 4 Manx Shearwaters.
There was a Little Blue Heron in Truro.
Looks like Wellfleet was busy at town meeting. Eastham went water skiing again.
