Confirmed bird sightings on the Outer Cape in the week preceding the Independent’s deadline on Tuesday, June 15 included the following, based on a report prepared by Mass Audubon’s Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary.
Sightings at Race Point in Provincetown included 2 Little Gulls, 70 Bonaparte’s Gulls, 3 Lesser Black-Backed Gulls, and 225 Least Terns.
Blue-Winged Warblers were reported in Truro. We don’t know how many.
In Wellfleet, there were some late Blackpoll Warblers, and an Alder Flycatcher was seen at Wellfleet Bay sanctuary.
In Eastham the birdwatchers must have gone water skiing. No word on what they saw.
