Confirmed bird sightings on the Outer Cape in the week preceding the Independent’s deadline on Tuesday, May 25 included the following, based on a report prepared by Mass Audubon’s Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary.

Sightings at Race Point in Provincetown included 2 Black Guillemots, 2 Little Gulls, 400 Bonaparte’s Gulls, 2 Lesser Black-Backed Gulls, a Glaucous Gull, 1,200 Common Terns, and 11 Manx Shearwaters. Elsewhere in town, 3 Pine Siskins were seen.
A Wilson’s Phalarope and a Sora were found at Mass Audubon’s Wellfleet Bay sanctuary this week.
Little Blue Herons were seen in Eastham this week; we don’t know how many.
