Confirmed bird sightings on the Outer Cape in the week preceding the Independent’s deadline on Tuesday, March 23 included the following, based on a report prepared by Mass Audubon’s Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary.
The Tufted Duck is still around at Great Pond in Eastham.
Two Snowy Owls were reported from Wellfleet.
30 Common Redpolls were reported from North Truro.
Sightings at Race Point in Provincetown this week included 2 Pacific Loons, 2 Thick-Billed Murres, 3 Common Murres, a Black Guillemot, 12 Iceland Gulls, a Lesser Black-Backed Gull, a Short-Eared Owl, a Common Raven, and a Northern Shrike.
