PROVINCETOWN — Fourteen eighth-grade students celebrated their completion of the Provincetown Schools International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program on June 22.
They walked down the front steps of the school, past the flags of staff and students’ countries of origin, including the Czech Republic, Honduras, Jamaica, Portugal, and the United States to receive their certificates of promotion and congratulations from their teachers. Intercultural understanding is a focus of the curriculum.
According to school librarian Susan Heinz, 10 of the graduates will attend Cape Cod Regional Technical High School in the fall: Nelly Cruz, Jayden Davis, Aalyah Devasto, Kirstan Fay, Khalil Green, Axel Holmberg, Kiara Reeves, Jack Rhodes, Jemone Rose, and Rushawn White. Four plan to go to Nauset Regional High School: Maddy Enos, Carlos Maldonado, Ella Notaro, and Wyatt Vida.
