Confirmed bird sightings on the Outer Cape in the week preceding the Independent’s deadline on Tuesday, June 23, included the following, based on a report prepared by Mass Audubon’s Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary.
Tern, tern, tern: 150 Least Terns, a Black Tern, 20 Roseate Terns, and an Arctic Tern were seen at Race Point in Provincetown.
Other sightings at Race Point included a Franklin’s Gull, a Black Skimmer, a Parasitic Jaeger, a Little Gull, a Lesser Black-backed Gull, a Red-throated Loon, an American Oystercatcher, 15 Piping Plovers, and a Wilson’s Storm-Petrel.
There was a Black Vulture in Eastham this week.
And that Bufflehead is still around in North Truro.
