The Wellfleet Farmers Market will be the first to open on the Outer Cape this season, on Wednesday, May 13, from 8 a.m. to noon. Like other local greenmarkets across the country, it will look and feel different than it has in years past. A “one-in-one-out” policy will be used to keep the number of visitors sharing the space low. Both vendors and shoppers will be asked to wear masks. And shopping will be “touchless” as only vendors will handle and bag food. Expect to see other protocols like clearly demarcated paths into, through, and out of the market area behind the Congregational Church on Main Street, in keeping with social distancing guidelines; more handwashing facilities; and the use of Venmo instead of cash. —Elspeth Hay
