Suede’s Material (Thursday, Oct. 13 & Saturday, Oct. 15)
Perennial Women’s Week favorite Suede will perform at the Crown & Anchor on Thursday, Oct. 13 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 15 at 7:30 p.m. The pop-jazz-blues vocalist and multi-instrumentalist has toured nationally and internationally. Catch of the Day (Friday, Oct. 14)
Owen Nichols, director of the Center for Coastal Studies Marine Fisheries Research Program, will demonstrate beach seine net sampling techniques in a “Marine Science Experience” at the Wellfleet Town Pier on Friday, Oct. 14, 9 to 10 a.m. Nichols will haul in a net and discuss what kinds of small fish are present; the fish will then be released. Audience participation encouraged. Gather by the shellfish dept. office. The program is free; no registration required.
NOAA Way (Friday, Oct. 14)
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration representatives will discuss their programs at the Wellfleet Public Library on Friday, Oct. 14, 3 p.m. Topics will include upcoming grants and funding, new aquaculture research, and innovative technology. The discussion is free.
Cocktails and Conversation (Friday, Oct. 14)

Mass Audubon presents “Birding the Fall Migration at Fort Hill” on Saturday, Oct. 15, 8 a.m. to noon in Eastham. In this ongoing series, expert birder Chris Walz takes participants through the process of creating a “year list” of birds from beginning to end. Consider the Oyster (Saturday, Oct. 15)
The Wellfleet Public Library presents “Farming the Flats” with Barbara Brennessel on Saturday, Oct. 15, 11 a.m. to noon. Brennessel will explain the journey of oysters from spat to farm to table and will also teach about shellfish biology, the work of local oyster farmers, and how the Herring River restoration may expand the Wellfleet shellfishing industry. Masks required, and seating is limited.
Meet Your Idol (Saturday, Oct. 15)
Eastham’s own Natalia Bonfini will perform at the Eastham Public Library on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2 p.m. Bonfini has toured with some of the country’s top blues bands and recently went to Nashville and Hollywood to compete in the 20th season of American Idol. Register at easthamlibrary.libcal.com.

Womencrafts presents the first Dykes on Bikes motor parade for Women’s Week, open to all wheeled conveyances (including scooters, mopeds, electric bikes, and motorcycles); it will meet at the Harbor Hotel in Provincetown at 2:15 p.m. before rolling down Commercial Street.
Singing for Suppers (Saturday, Oct. 15)
The Club will host a musical benefit for the Soup Kitchen in Provincetown on Saturday, Oct. 15, 8 to 9:30 p.m. The evening includes performances by vocalists Qya Cristál and Dennis Flaherty; saxophone player Ken Field; pianist Matt Hutchinson; bass player Ron Ormsby; and drummer Bart Weisman. Singer Talks Dance (Wednesday, Oct. 19)
The Provincetown Library hosts author Toba Singer on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 6 p.m., in the Marc Jacobs Reading Room for a presentation on Fernando Alonso, the father of Cuban ballet. Her talk celebrates World Ballet Day and asks, “Is classical ballet dying?” A book signing will conclude the event.
Good Vibes (Thursday, Oct. 20)
