Bird Boogie (Friday, March 4)
Witness one of nature’s funkiest springtime flings — the mating dance of the American woodcock — at Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary, 291 Route 6, on Friday, March 4, 5:15 to 6:30 p.m. At dusk, males strut their stuff and zigzag through the air to get ladies’ attention. Walking in Wellfleet (Saturday, March 5)
Weather permitting, the Wellfleet Adult Community Center leads a morning stroll around the Wellfleet Pier on Saturday, March 5, 9:30 a.m. Meet near the harbormaster’s office. Jazz Hands (Sunday, March 6)
The Cape Cod Museum of Art, 60 Hope Lane in Dennis, presents a concert by 440, a “gypsy jazz” ensemble, on Sunday, March 6, 3 to 4 p.m. Violinist Tomoko Iwamoto, clarinetist Mark Chenevert, guitarist Jack Soref, and bassist Sven Larson pay homage to artists such as Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli. Talk of the Town (Sunday, March 6)
The first of four March Sunday readings from Mary Heaton Vorse’s classic Provincetown memoir Time and the Town will take place via Zoom at 5 p.m. on March 6. Readers for this first session will be Stephen Orr, editor of Better Homes and Gardens, and Jodi Kantor, the Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Times correspondent.
