Well, here’s the good news: The new Moon in Cancer on June 28 has energized our sense of home — and that includes both our physical homes and also the people in our lives whom we go home to for comfort and strength. This is a time for empowering our deepest connections.
(June 28 also happens to be the day my partner and I shotgunned our wedding in Washington, D.C., in a mad dash to beat the tide.)
Cancer is also the home sign of sister Moon, who rules the tides and the womb. Speaking of wombs, the U.S. Supreme Court certainly seems to have tossed the baby out with the bath water. Because their decision affects more than just a woman’s right to an abortion — it affects a woman’s power over her own personhood.
Perhaps it’s Neptune’s recent shift into retrograde in its home sign, Pisces, that has pushed the rose-colored lenses from our vision. Like Cancer and the Moon, Neptune and Pisces are water-oriented. Lest we feel like we are up a creek with no paddle, a reminder: we do know these waters. Decades of fighting for our civil rights has provided us with powerful resources — if we choose to tap them.
