If you think 2021 wasn’t as full of silver linings as 2020, you can thank the cosmic dance of Saturn and Uranus for making every molehill this year feel more like a mountain. The square aspect between these planets creates challenges, but also opportunities — if you’re willing to put in the work.
Saturn and Uranus squared off three times during 2021, in February, June, and December. Saturn represents structure and control, whereas Uranus is all about bucking the status quo, especially when it is in a material-centric sign like Taurus. Think of the push and pull of the economy this year, or Bitcoin’s rise and fall.
Saturn, on the other hand, is in idealistic Aquarius, which signals momentous social changes. Saturn prefers to temper Aquarius’s innovative drive, however, by reminding us that progress takes perseverance — and not just a new president. So much for my student loan debt!
So how is any of this a gift? Well, in my humble opinion, the greatest gift we can ask for is a coming together of people for the greater good. It’s either that or a come-to-Jesus moment, which I honestly I believe we could all use. Either way, we come out the other side stronger.
Speaking of Jesus — that anti-capitalist, table-flipping, sinner-loving Jew — Merry Christmas!
