This week’s major planetary transit is brought to you by Uranus retrograde in Taurus. Uranus, which rules humanitarian Aquarius, is a “generational” planet — its transits last longer and tend to influence society at large. Presiding in Taurus from 2018 through 2026, Uranus is currently retrograde until just before Inauguration Day in January 2021. It has also been in opposition to — at odds with — the Scorpio Sun for the past two weeks and through Election Day.
Often called the Great Disruptor, Uranus is a revolutionary planet, and its energy doesn’t mix easily with the status quo of stubborn Taurus. For example, the last time Uranus made its eight-year transit through Taurus, we had Depression-era American isolationism, followed by the rise of fascism in Western Europe, culminating in World War II.
Looking ahead at the stars for Inauguration Day, Uranus may be holding some post-retrograde tricks up its sleeve. No matter what surprises unfold, Uranus in Taurus calls for us to hold steady and to continue to evolve.
