Provincetown’s main Veterans Day program will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 11 at the Veterans Memorial Wall next to town hall. The placing of the memorial wreath will honor all service members. It will be preceded at 10 a.m. by a similar set of memorial events at MacMillan Pier, where a wreath will be cast upon the water to honor those who served in the seagoing services.
The program includes an address by the Rev. Peter Scheffer, a retired U.S. Army lieutenant colonel and pastor of St. Joan of Arc Parish in Orleans. Denise Parks will sing the national anthem and “Amazing Grace,” and Michael Coelho will play Taps. Jim Keefe is master of ceremonies.
Eastham’s annual Veterans Day program will begin at 4 p.m. on Monday at the Eastham Methodist Church on Route 6. There will be music and words of gratitude; all are welcome.
The Truro Council on Aging will hold a luncheon for veterans and their spouses at noon on Thursday, Nov. 7. There is no charge; call 508-487-2462 for reservations.
