Covid-19 Update
As of Jan. 19, Provincetown had six active cases of Covid-19, 66 total cases, and one death attributed to Covid-19, according to the town’s website.
Sal’s Place Faces Board of Health
The restaurant Sal’s Place, normally located at 99 Commercial St. but offering a winter pop-up at 186 Commercial St., has been cited for violating Covid-19 safety standards. On Thursday, Jan. 21, the board of health will hear an appeal of the citation by the owners of Sal’s Place, Siobhan Carew and her daughter, Michela Carew-Murphy.
The specific charge against the restaurant was not listed on the meeting agenda and Health Director Morgan Clark said on Tuesday she did not know the details because the report had been prepared by another staff member.
The Independent has learned that Sal’s Place may not be the only restaurant to face sanctions from the board of health for violating Covid-19 safety standards. But no others could be confirmed by deadline.
The board of health meeting begins at 4 p.m. —K.C. Myers
