The season for peaches is always regrettably short, so don’t wait too long to visit Victoria Pecoraro’s stall at the Wellfleet market. Pecoraro, who has run the Wellfleet Chick Koop and Farm since 1999, has ripe, juicy yellow peaches, white peaches, and nectarines for sale — you might have to stand in line. She also has an abundance of melons. The classics: watermelon, honeydew, and cantaloupe are there as are more unusual varieties that you won’t find at the grocery store. Try a Snow Leopard melon for something different. It’s a type of honeydew with a smooth green specked skin and creamy super sweet flesh. You can also find Pecoraro and her fruit at the Truro market on Mondays.
