‘Woodlarking’ with Paul Bowen
Aug 13, 2021 | 11:00 am - 5:00 pm

Former Provincetown mainstay Paul Bowen returns to town with “Woodlarking,” a show of recent wood constructions at Albert Merola Gallery, 424 Commercial St. in Provincetown, opening Friday, Aug. 13 and running through Sept. 1. Though Bowen no longer works on such a monumental scale, his strong senses of play and curiosity remain. Resolutely satisfying, the pieces feel unfettered, never rushed. Bowen takes found materials — sentiments of time and place — and applies history in such a way that it is reinvigorated and realigned to the present. The gallery is open Wednesday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
