Summer Dreamin’ at Stewart Clifford Gallery

“Summer Dreams,” a show of paintings by Christopher Roddick, and “Crossing Over,” a show of digital prints by Jan Donley, opens Friday, Aug. 6 at Stewart Clifford Gallery, 338 Commercial St. in Provincetown, and runs through Sept. 1.

Roddick paints architecture nestled in against the shoreline and large yachts charging across the water in a flurry of spray. Donley “paints” on her iPad to make digital prints on metal. They’re small, intimate snapshots that teeter towards narrative without having to spell it out — in a visual style that’s just on the right side of naïve. There will a reception on Friday, Aug. 6 from 7 to 9 p.m.
