Robert Shreefter Digs Deep at Preservation Hall

“Excavating: Time & Place,” an exhibition of silkscreen prints by Robert Shreefter at Wellfleet Preservation Hall, at 335 Main St., opens Friday, January 29th. The hall is open Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There is also a virtual artist chat on February 18th at 5 p.m.

Shreefter is the curator of the Off Main Gallery in Wellfleet. “My fascination with printmaking is personal: as the son and grandson of printers, I feel that printmaking allows me to pay tribute to the craft my father and grandfather practiced,” writes Shreefter in an artist statement. He is also drawn to the repeatable nature of printmaking, which “holds an element of surprise.”
