Pete Hocking’s ‘Adoration’

Four Eleven Gallery, located at 411 Commercial St. in Provincetown, presents “I Did It All With Adoration,” a show of new oil paintings by Pete Hocking that explore the Outer Cape’s coastline. Broad swaths of paint depict the oceanside roads of Eastham and Wellfleet, the cliffs of Truro, and the desert-like plains of Provincetown bathed in light. What makes Hocking’s work so compelling is the economy of his brush: strokes of color depict rolling dunes and waterways with a minimum of fuss. The show opens Friday, June 25th and runs through July 8th.
