Language and Abstraction at Off Main Gallery 

Susie Nielsen is showing new works, alongside works by visiting guest artists Kay Gordon and Amy Solomon, at Off Main Gallery, 75 Commercial St. in Wellfleet, from Friday, July 23rd to August 12th. Nielsen uses painting and printmaking with a minimalist aesthetic to explore visual communication outside of what we know, or think we know, by re-contextualizing language and ephemera. Using books and photographic material, Kay Gordon explores the presence of absence, noting what is revealed when things are removed or obscured. The mixed media drawings of Amy Solomon were created in response to the pandemic, grounding anxiety through a ritual of abstract repetition. The gallery is open Friday and Sunday, noon to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 2 to 8 p.m. There will be an opening reception on Saturday, July 24th from 6 to 8 p.m.
