Heather Pilchard on the Horizon

The next in AMZehnder Gallery’s week-long summer series is a show of Eastham artist Heather Pilchard’s intimate oil paintings of the Cape’s marshes and tidal flats set against a banner of sky.

Pilchard — who is also a photographer, bookbinder, and teacher — holds a B.F.A. from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University. Working with 6-by-6-inch boards, she paints horizontal bands of color that stack like pancakes.

The show opens Thursday, June 24th and runs through Tuesday, June 29th, with an opening reception on Saturday, June 26th from 6 to 8 p.m. The gallery, located at 25 Bank St. #3 in Wellfleet, is open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., closed Wednesdays.
