Opening at Schoolhouse Gallery, 494 Commercial St. in Provincetown, on Friday, July 23rd and running through August 11th is a show of works by Jennifer Amadeo-Holl, Jeannie Motherwell, Ted Kincaid, Sarah Lutz, and Anna Poor. Amadeo-Holl’s paintings are a satisfying mash-up of figuration and abstraction; Motherwell continues her abstractions exploring the viscosity of paint and the meeting of control and chance; Kincaid is a photographer who grounds his work in a patina of the past; the joyful abstractions of Sarah Lutz mine the possibilities of paint as it pertains to shape, color, and emotion; and Anna Poor’s art history-inspired sculptures are steeped in the present political climate. The gallery is open daily, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Thursday through Sunday until 8 p.m.
