Come to PAPA

The Provincetown Theater will present the fourth annual Provincetown American Playwright Award (PAPA) at the Mary Heaton Vorse House, 466 Commercial St. in Provincetown, on Saturday, Aug. 14. A special dinner presentation will honor playwright Doug Wright (I Am My Own Wife, Grey Gardens) with this year’s PAPA, as well as inaugurate two new awards: the Provincetown Theater Trailblazer Award, presented to playwright and composer Michael R. Jackson (A Strange Loop), and the Provincetown Theater Icon Award, which will be presented to Broadway star Kelli O’Hara (The King and I). Cocktail hour is at 6 p.m., with an awards presentation at 6:45 p.m., followed by a dinner and reception from 7:30 to 9 p.m. All events are outdoors. Tickets are $500 at provincetowntheater.org.
