Bowersock Gallery Makes a Mark

“Make My Mark: Manifested Vision” — a three-person show featuring Alan Ammann, David Random, and Helene Bess — opens at Bowersock Gallery, 373 Commercial St. in Provincetown, on Friday, July 23rd and runs through August 3rd. Ammann’s paintings have a stained glass look that fractures and coalesces into a jigsaw of color; assemblage sculptor David Random’s three-dimensional shadow boxes filled with found objects and old photographs are shrine-like and reverential; and the heavily embellished toy animals of sculptor Helene Bess are a blend of folk and outsider art that’s both humorous and sincere. There will be a reception on Friday, July 23rd from 7 to 9 p.m.
