The Albert Merola Gallery at 424 Commercial St. in Provincetown is presenting a show of new work by Irene Lipton through October 1st. The gallery is open Thursday through Sunday, noon to 5p.m, and by appointment (508-487-4424). Lipton’s abstract paintings feature “dancing, rhythmic contours with the dervish of a haywire Slinky,” according to art critic André van der Wende. The Albert Merola Gallery show features large-scale works, four-and five-feet square. Lipton is a two-time Fine Arts Work Center fellow and a recipient of a Lillian Orlowsky and William Freed Foundation Grant.
