EASTHAM — The weather continued to disrupt early spring sports at Nauset Regional High School. But it didn’t stop boys lacrosse (2-1) from picking up a pair of wins, including their first of the season, 8-3, over Canton on Saturday.
Junior Logan Poulin scored two goals and tallied an assist for the Warriors, who had seven different scorers.
Nauset trailed 2-1 before two goals in the final minute of the opening half put the hosts in front. Poulin tied the game with 42.9 seconds left, while sophomore Sam Mayhew made it 3-2 with just 0.2 seconds remaining on the clock ahead of halftime. The Warriors then posted four goals in the third quarter to take a 7-2 lead and cruised to victory.
The boys had two goals late in the fourth quarter in an 8-7 win over Sandwich on Tuesday. Poulin, classmate Joey Berardi, and seniors Colby Smith and Ryder Holm all tallied two goals each.
Girls lacrosse (3-1) split a pair of games, rebounding from Friday’s loss to Sandwich with an 18-4 thumping of Dennis-Yarmouth Regional on Tuesday.
Senior Coral Punch reached 100 career points with five goals and four assists in two games. She posted four goals and three assists against the Dolphins.
Sophomore Julia Kipperman tallied a hat trick in an 11-4 loss to Sandwich.
Nauset had taken the lead three minutes into the game, but Sandwich scored three unanswered goals. The Lady Knights used a late flurry with two goals in the final 46 seconds of the half to build a 6-2 lead. Punch appeared to score early in the third quarter, but it was disallowed, and Sandwich found the net at the other end to make it 8-2 and controlled the game from there.
Nauset girls golf lost their season-opening match 4.5-1.5 against Monomoy Regional at Cranberry Valley Golf Course. Last Thursday’s match against Dennis-Yarmouth was postponed to May 6.
The Warriors coed sailing team improved to 2-0 with a 4-0 sweep of St. John Paul II at Orleans Yacht Club on Tuesday. A regatta against Falmouth was postponed to a date to be determined.

Baseball (2-1) split a pair of games, losing 9-1 at Plymouth South on Friday and rebounding with a 4-3 win in extra innings over Fairhaven on Tuesday. The Warriors battled back from a 3-0 deficit with three runs in the sixth and walked off in the bottom of the ninth on a wild pitch.
Softball (1-2) had a week of ups and downs but finished on a high. After suffering 26-5 and 21-2 home losses to Upper Cape Cod Tech and Bristol Plymouth Vocational Tech on Friday and Monday, they had a 34-31 win over St. John Paul II on Tuesday.
