EASTHAM — The Nauset Warriors girls lacrosse team provided a highlight in a quiet April vacation week with a 14-12 road win over Cape Cod Academy in Osterville on Thursday.
Freshman Julia Kiperman scored five goals to lead Nauset. Juniors Sienna Reeves and Coral Punch had three goals and two goals respectively. The Warriors stand at 4-2 on the season.
Nauset boys lacrosse bounced back from a defeat at Xaverian Brothers with a 17-8 win at Silver Lake Regional on Friday. Senior Andrew Berardi scored four goals to go with five assists, bringing his season tally to 17 goals. Classmate Kevin Wright also had four goals, while Quinn Mucha and Payton Kender each recorded hat tricks.
Nauset baseball fell to 19th-ranked Duxbury 9-5 on Friday and Plymouth North on Monday. The Dragons broke a one-all game open with four runs in the top of the third inning before adding two more in the fourth to make it 7-1. The Warriors plated three runs in the sixth inning to get within 8-4 but ultimately fell short.
Nauset was then clipped 6-4 by Plymouth North at Eldredge Park, suffering a sixth straight loss. The Warriors and Blue Eagles headed to the top of the seventh tied at 4-4 before the visitors broke the deadlock with a pair of runs. Nauset was unable to respond in its half of the final frame.
Girls golf was scheduled to play Barnstable in a nonleague match at Captains Golf Course on Tuesday. Coed sailing hosted Martha’s Vineyard at Orleans Yacht Club, and unified track had a meet at Monomoy.
The Warriors boys and girls track teams had a home meet against Martha’s Vineyard on Wednesday while the boys and girls tennis teams returned to action following a long layoff, matching up with Dennis-Yarmouth. Softball, meanwhile, took aim at a seventh straight win when it traveled to Dennis-Yarmouth.
