EASTHAM — Seven Nauset boys and girls varsity teams get their spring seasons underway this week, with golf highlighting a busy schedule with a pair of matches.
The Warriors girls golf team opened the season against Monomoy at Eastward Ho! Country Club in Chatham on Tuesday before hosting Falmouth the following day at Captains Golf Course in Brewster.
Nauset girls lacrosse got their preseason underway with an 11-11 draw with Monomoy on Monday afternoon. They were scheduled to play a scrimmage against Mashpee on Wednesday. The Warriors will open the season in the first of three straight home games on Friday when they host St. John Paul II.
The boys lacrosse team enjoyed a successful trio of games at a jamboree hosted by Scituate, where they played Milton, Canton, and Scituate. Sophomores Sawyer McCutcheon and Joey Berardi, junior Ryder Holm, and freshman Brendan Peno have each had standout performances for the Warriors during the preseason. They were scheduled to play Cape Cod Tech in a final tune-up game on Tuesday.
The Nauset boys and girls track teams open the season with a dual meet at Barnstable High School. Led by indoor track MVP freshman Violet Roche, the Warrior girls will be looking to build on last year’s 4-3 record.
The boys, who went 6-1 last year, will be led by junior Damian Bebber. The Warriors edged Barnstable 73-62 last season.
