EASTHAM — The Nauset boys and girls swim teams each locked up Cape and Islands League championships as well as post-season titles during a busy week for Nauset sports.
The boys clipped host Sandwich High for first place with a combined score of 282 points at the 4th annual Cape and Islands Championships. The Knights finished with 246 points and Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School came in third with 228.
Junior Will Crowell won both the 200- and 500-yard freestyle events, and senior Tim Johnson placed first in the 200-yard individual medley. Crowell and Johnson also posted the best time alongside seniors Jack Montgomery and Roman Gorman in the 400-yard freestyle relay. The quartet placed second in the 200-yard relay to qualify for States.
The undefeated boys added to their regular season crown, which they secured on Thursday with an 86-77 win over Sandwich.
The girls, meanwhile, tied Nantucket High for first place, both teams finishing with 345 points at the post-season event. Sandwich was third with 261 points. The Warrior girls won the 200-yard freestyle relay and the 200-yard medley relay. Freshman Laura Kaser was the champion in the 200-yard freestyle.
The girls defeated Sandwich 111-71 on Jan. 26 to earn a share of the Cape and Islands regular season championship with a 5-0-1 record.
The Nauset boys hockey team rebounded from a Jan. 25 6-4 loss to Sandwich with a dominant 7-2 win over the Mashpee/Monomoy Monarchs at Tony Kent Arena in South Dennis. Sophomore Logan Poulin had a hat trick for the Warriors, who improved to 9-3 on the season. They were scheduled to play at Barnstable on Wednesday.
The Cape Cod Furies saw their two-game win streak come to an end in a 4-0 home loss to Sandwich on Saturday. The Furies and Knights battled through a scoreless first period before the hosts fell behind 2-0. Sandwich tacked on two more goals in the third period.
Nauset boys basketball halted a two-game slide with a convincing 59-39 win at Falmouth High School on Friday to improve to 6-7 on the season. They played Dennis-Yarmouth on Tuesday.
Girls basketball was nipped 28-25 by Falmouth on Friday. The Warriors led 15-11 at halftime before being overhauled by the Clippers in the low-scoring affair at home. The girls were scheduled to travel to Dennis-Yarmouth on Tuesday.
Sophomore Madeline Mahoney set a personal best of 3:01.82 to win the girls’ 1,000-meter race at the MSTCA Small Schools Coaches Invitational at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston. Sophomore Rihanna Sutherland, meanwhile, jumped 16 feet 5 inches to set a school indoor long jump record.
The Warrior girls indoor track team finished the year undefeated with a 5-0 record.
Junior Damian Bebber set personal bests in the 600-meter and 300-meter races of 1:26.06 and 37.25, respectively, for the boys track team. The boys finished the season with a 4-1 record.

Boys Hockey: Nauset welcomes Falmouth High for a pivotal tilt at Charles Moore Arena. Game time is set for 6:10 p.m.
