EASTHAM — The Nauset girls soccer team stayed hot last week, notching their fourth straight win on Thursday with a 3-1 triumph over Falmouth to improve to 7-1-1 on the season. Junior Georgie Orlandella scored a brace for the Warriors, and senior Ceci LeBarge added the third goal. The Warriors were scheduled to play Dennis-Yarmouth on Tuesday and Martha’s Vineyard on Thursday this week. In their first contest this season, Nauset beat the Vineyarders 2-0.
The Nauset boys soccer team meanwhile bounced back from its first loss of the season to Barnstable last Tuesday with a Homecoming Day win over Falmouth, 4-0, on Thursday. Senior forward Nate Watring continued his stellar play, tallying a goal from the penalty spot to help the Warriors move to 7-1 on the year. Their scheduled game against Nantucket on Tuesday was postponed.
Nauset football was edged by Falmouth, 14-13, on Friday to fall to a 2-2 record. Freshman quarterback Brendon Peno threw for two touchdowns — one each to Dillon White and Isaiah Robinson — in the loss. The Warriors trailed 14-0 before mounting a comeback; a missed point-after attempt was the difference in the final score.
After falling to Falmouth and Nantucket on consecutive days, the boys golf team snapped its four-match losing streak with a narrow 256-260 victory over Barnstable on Monday. They improved to 7-7 on the season and were due to play Dennis-Yarmouth and Plymouth North on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively.
Nauset’s field hockey team edged Barnstable on Friday, 2-1, then demolished Bridgewater-Raynham 8-0 on Monday to bring their record to 6-2-1. They were slated to play Monomoy on Wednesday.
