EASTHAM — Nauset football bounced back with an emphatic 38-20 win over Carver Middle High School last Friday night to improve to 5-3 on the season.
The Warriors, who haven’t suffered back-to-back losses all season, were led by freshman quarterback Brendan Peno’s four touchdown passes. Three of those were caught by senior wideout Dillon White.
Nauset girls soccer went 3-0 over the past week to wrap up the regular season campaign with a 16-1-1 record. The Warriors dispatched Plymouth South last Thursday before sealing victories over Pembroke and Bridgewater-Raynham on Saturday and Monday.
The boys soccer team, meanwhile, suffered consecutive losses for the first time this season. They were upended 5-0 by Pembroke on Saturday but rebounded with a 7-2 win at Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School to move to 13-4-1 on the season.
Cross-country runner Maddy Mahoney placed first overall in the girls race at the Cape & Islands Championship on Martha’s Vineyard on Friday afternoon. Mahoney finished in 19:05, a personal best. Will Crowell came in sixth with a time of 17:31 while Malcolm Stewart placed 16th in 18:34 for the boys team.
Nauset field hockey defeated Duxbury High 5-0 on Saturday for their third straight win after blanking Carver Middle High School 4-0 earlier in the week. The Warriors are 9-6-3 this season.
Warriors volleyball, meanwhile, wrapped up their season with a 3-0 sweep of Sturgis East Charter School on Friday evening.
