EASTHAM — The Nauset Regional High School boys basketball team finally played a game on its home court for the first time this season on Dec. 28, notching a 65-46 win over Monomoy. The team’s second game, on the road on Dec. 30 against the Wareham Vikings, was a 71-70 overtime victory. The Warriors stood at 2-0 on the season as of Tuesday.
The boys’ first two scheduled games were postponed because of Covid-19.
Against Wareham, Nauset was led by four players. Keleb Daniels scored 22 points and had seven steals, Seth Asiiwme recorded 17 points and eight assists, Mikey Gray finished with 11 points and eight rebounds, while Jeff McCarthy added 11 points.
Nauset was scheduled to play a rematch against Wareham at home on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
Meanwhile, the Nauset boys ice hockey team is also off to a strong 5-1 start. The team welcomed 2022 with a 10-2 victory over Blue Hills Regional Tech on New Year’s Day and was scheduled to play Sandwich on Wednesday.
The Furies girls hockey team remained 2-1 after its last four games were postponed due to Covid. The team is scheduled to travel to Nantucket for a game on Jan. 12.
Thursday, Jan. 6
Boys and girls swimming: The Nauset boys and girls swim teams travel to Sandwich for a meet against the Blue Knights at 4 p.m.
Girls basketball: The Warriors are scheduled to play Plymouth North at home at 5 p.m.
Saturday, Jan. 8
Boys and girls swimming: The swim teams participate in the Cape Cod Classic beginning at 11:15 a.m. at the Nantucket Community Pool.
Monday, Jan. 10
Boys and girls swmming: It’s another meet against Nantucket High School, to be held at Willy’s Gym in Eastham beginning at 4 p.m.
Boys basketball: Cape Cod Academy travels to play the Nauset boys at 6:30 p.m.
Boys ice hockey: The Warriors look to keep their winning ways against the Dennis-Yarmouth Dolphins at Charles Moore Arena in Orleans. Faceoff is at 8:10 p.m.
Tuesday, Jan. 11
Boys and girls indoor track: The Nauset track teams meet Dennis-Yarmouth at Wheaton College in Norton at 3:30 p.m.
Wednesday, Jan. 12
Girls ice hockey: The Furies face off against the Nantucket Whalers at Nantucket Community Ice Rink at 5:15 p.m.
Boys wrestling: Sandwich comes east for a wrestling meet against Nauset at 6 p.m.
Boys ice hockey: The Barnstable Red Hawks play the Warriors at Charles Moore Arena at 6:10 p.m.
