EASTHAM — It was a busy Homecoming Weekend for Nauset sports across the board. The boys golf team finished in the runner-up spot in the MIAA South Sectional Championship at Easton Country Club on Monday, Oct. 18. That was good enough to qualify for the Division 2 State Finals, which is the next contest for the Warriors.
Freshman Jack Martin shot a 72 to tie for first place as an individual, and senior Cooper Guiliano finished with a 74.
Prior to Monday’s sectional competition, Guiliano won the solo Cape Cod High School Championship and led Nauset to the team title over the weekend. Martin tied for second in the individual competition, and senior Nemo Frawley also had a strong showing for the Warriors. The team is 14-4 on the season.
Both the girls and boys soccer teams cruised to victories last week. The girls defeated Dennis-Yarmouth 6-0 on Thursday, Oct. 14 to improve to 11-2 for the season. The boys remain undefeated after a 5-0 win over Dennis-Yarmouth the same night.
The boys football team managed its first win of the season, soundly defeating Martha’s Vineyard on Oct. 15 by a score of 24-6. The team was led by sophomore Logan Julien and junior Dillon White, who combined for three touchdowns. Julien also recorded an interception for the defense.
The fall sports regular season will conclude by the end of next week before eligible teams begin their playoff contests.
