EASTHAM — Nauset High School’s basketball players kept their success rolling on Saturday, Feb. 13, as both the boys and girls teams defeated the Dennis-Yarmouth Dolphins. The boys team made the Dolphins’ trip to Eastham a forgettable one, as the Warriors won a decisive 72-40 game.
The girls traveled to D-Y and allowed only 24 points while scoring 52. The girls are now 9-0, with the boys not far behind at 6-3. Both teams play their final games of the regular season on Friday, Feb. 19.
The goaltenders prevailed during the Cape Cod Furies’ hockey game against Nantucket on Feb. 13, as the game ended in a 0-0 tie. The Whalers’ senior goaltender, Shea Harnishfeger, recorded 34 saves, while Furies’ freshman goaltender, Olivia Avellar, recorded 16 saves. The Furies are 2-2-3 on the season.
Delaney Smith broke her own 11-dive school record in the final competition of her senior year in a dive meet at Percy Walker Pool on Saturday, Feb. 13. Smith is set to dive for the University of Rhode Island next year.
The girls swim team is now 3-2 on the season, while the boys are 4-1. —Ryan Fitzgerald
