Editor’s note: The profiles of some of this year’s Outer Cape high school graduates were missing from our June 4 special section. Here are a few of them.
Anna Rogers
Truro
School: NRHS
Fall plan: Continuing my education
After high school, I plan to stay on the Cape with my family. I couldn’t live without my dog, Oscar — and popcorn. I want my classmates to know that I care about them and wish them well.
Cassidy Cook
Wellfleet
School: NRHS
Fall plan: The University of Arizona
I will be attending the University of Arizona this fall to major in business management. I took for granted the days on the beach with all of my friends, being at school every day, and going out to eat. I hope to experience all those things again. Although I will be attending college and grad school across the country, I will always come back to the Cape to visit. I have so much support from my family here, and nothing brings me more inner peace than the beach. I’ll take away from high school the lesson that it’s important to realize when you’re struggling, and to ask for help when you need it.
Jayda Traynor
Town: North Eastham
School: NRHS
Fall plan: Fitchburg State University
I aspire to be a trauma nurse in an E.R. in a big city. Being a nurse has always been my childhood dream. Last summer I had the opportunity to shadow at Wellfleet Fire Dept. and that really increased my interest in emergency medicine. Attending college will be a big change for me. I will miss all the beautiful beaches and everyone who lives here on the Cape. I will also miss cheering at Friday night football games and being able to do competitive cheerleading every weekend. My coach, Jennie Suydam, has taught me confidence and leadership. She has been with me through my hardest times and always told me to keep my head high.
