The Town of Provincetown (Town) is soliciting Bids for the MacMillan Pier Switchgear Replacement project.
Sealed Bids will be electronically accepted only: bids are due: AUGUST 27, 2025, AT 11:00AM, at which time the Bids will be publicly opened and read at 2 Mayflower Street Provincetown MA 02657 in Room 74.
Invitations for Bid documents are available electronically at https://www.provincetown-ma.gov/37/Procurement
A mandatory Pre-bid Conference will occur on site at the Harbormaster’s Office located on MacMillan Pier on AUGUST 6, 2025, at 10:00AM.
Questions relating to the Bid will be accepted via the Town’s e-procurement portal.
All Bids for this project are subject to applicable public bidding laws of MA, including, but not limited to G.L. c.30, §39M. It is anticipated that the procurement period will begin after the Notice of Award, and the work will begin on or after OCTOBER 6, 2025. The project is anticipated to be substantially completed on or before NOVEMBER 21, 2025.
The Town reserves the right to waive any informality, to accept or reject, in whole or in part, any or all Bids, or take whatever other action may be deemed to be in the best interest of the Town.

AFSCME – DPW/TRANSFER STATION/SANITATION HYBRID SKILLED STAFF
The Town of Provincetown is accepting applications for an opening in the Department of Public Works for Transfer Station/Sanitation Hybrid Skilled Staff. This is a hybrid position working part time at the Transfer Station and part time in the Sanitation Department. It is a 40 hour a week position that is responsible for skilled manual work in the operation of the transfer station/recycling center and all related equipment, vehicles and enforcement of all board rules and regulations as well as responsible for picking up curbside trash and recycling.
Applicants should have a high school graduate, GED or equivalent, 1 – 2 years’ experience in a transfer station/recycling center. Massachusetts Class B Driver’s License preferred but will train once hired. Will also need to obtain a Massachusetts hydraulics operator’s license once hired. This is a Grade 5 with a 6-month training wage of $61,162.44. Position available immediately.
