Harbormaster
The Harbormaster enforces state and local laws and regulations for the protection and safety of the professional and general boating public on Provincetown’s waterways. Performs supervisory, administrative, and patrol work in the management of the Town’s harbor, landings, waterways, ways to water, floats, docks, marinas, mooring fields, and shoreline. Performs a variety of enforcement, rescue, and other public safety duties.

The Provincetown Select Board will hold a Public Hearing on Monday, June 24, at 7:00 p.m. in the Judge Welsh Hearing Room, Provincetown Town Hall, 260 Commercial Street, Provincetown, to consider amending Section 8-8-4 of the Town of Provincetown Traffic and Parking Regulations to include the following two definitions:
”Class 1 electric bicycle”, an electric bicycle or tricycle equipped with a motor that provides assistance only when the rider is pedaling and that ceases to provide assistance when the bicycle reaches the speed of 20 miles per hour.
”Class 2 electric bicycle”, an electric bicycle or tricycle equipped with a motor that may be used exclusively to propel the bicycle and that is not capable of providing assistance when the bicycle reaches the speed of 20 miles per hour.

The Provincetown Select Board will hold a Public Hearing on Monday, June 24, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. in the Judge Welsh Room, Town Hall, 260 Commercial Street, Provincetown, MA 02657 pursuant to MGL Chapter 166, Section 22, on the following request:
Application by Marissa Jackson on behalf of Eversource Energy requesting permission to install 5’ +/- 1-4” conduit from pole 1/28 to handhole 1/28H under the sidewalk at 119 Commercial St. in accordance with the plan filed herewith marked Plan NO. 17092560 dated May 10, 2024.

Proposal to Create a “Walk Only Zone” on Commercial Street Between Center Street and Masonic Place

The Provincetown Select Board will hold a Public Hearing on Monday, June 24, at 7:00 p.m. in the Judge Welsh Hearing Room, Provincetown Town Hall, 260 Commercial Street, Provincetown, MA 02657, to hear the following proposal:
To consider the creation of a “Walk Only Zone” that would prohibit bicycles, electric bicycles, scooters, and any other motorized devices, other than motor vehicles, from traveling on Commercial St. between Center Street and Masonic Place in Provincetown. The proposal would require anyone on a pedal bike, e-bike, scooter, or other similar wheeled or electric-powered devices of any kind to dismount and walk through this area from Memorial Day through Labor Day each year. Pedestrians, motor vehicles, and wheelchairs would continue to be allowed to travel through this area.
