Assessors’ Notice
To all persons subject to taxation in the Town of Provincetown: Fiscal Year 2025
In accordance with the provisions of General Laws, Ch. 59, § 29, all individuals, partnerships, associations or trusts, and corporations, residents of or owning property located in Provincetown are hereby notified that they are required, on or before March 1, 2024, to bring in to the Board of Assessors in the form prescribed by the Commissioner of Revenue, true lists of property. All taxable tangible personal property shall be listed on the following forms:
Form 2– For all personal property of individuals, partnerships, associations, trusts and corporations doing business in the above municipality.
Form 2HF– For all household furnishings and effects of individuals if kept at a place other than their domicile.
Form 3(ABC) – For all real and personal property held for literary temperance benevolent charitable or scientific purposes on January 1, 2024, or, at the election of the corporation, on the last day of its fiscal year last preceding January 1, 2024, such lists to include the amount of receipts and expenditures for said purposes during the year of the return. Fraternal Benefit Corporations, which make returns to the Commissioner of Insurance under General Laws, Chapter 176, § 38, are not required to file this list. ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
The Town of Provincetown (Town) is soliciting Bids for the Courtesy Float Replacement project.
Sealed Bids will be received at the Office of the Town Manager, Provincetown Town Hall, 260 Commercial Street, Provincetown, MA 02657 until FEBRUARY 14, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. (prevailing time), at which time the Bids will be publicly opened and read.
Invitation for Bid documents are available electronically by contacting Beth Schuh (Foth) at: [email protected] with the subject: “Provincetown Courtesy Float Replacement: IFB Request” on or after JANUARY 17, 2024.
A non-mandatory Pre-bid Conference will occur on site at the Harbormaster’s Office located on MacMillan Pier on JANUARY 24, 2024, at 10:00 AM.
Questions relating to the Bid documents shall be submitted via email to Beth Schuh, at [email protected], until FEBRUARY 2, 2024, at 4:00 P.M.
Each Bid must be accompanied by a Bid security consisting of a BID BOND, CASH, or CERTIFIED CHECK issued by a responsible bank or trust company in the amount of 5% of the Bid price.
A Performance Bond in an amount equal to 100% of the total amount of the contract price with a surety company qualified to do business in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts will be required for the faithful performance of the contract, as well as a labor and materials Payment Bond in an amount equal to 100% of the total contract price.
All Bids for this project are subject to applicable public bidding laws of MA, including, but not limited to G.L. c.30, §39M. It is anticipated that the procurement period will begin on or after MARCH 5, 2024, and the work will begin on or after APRIL 16, 2024. The project is anticipated to be substantially completed prior to MAY 14, 2024, as set forth in the Contract Documents.
Minimum wage rates to be paid are determined by the Commissioner of Labor and Workforce Development and weekly payroll record submittal requirements under the provisions of MA General Laws, Chapter 149, Sections 26-27D inclusive.
Selection of the Contractor will be based upon Bidder qualifications, including evidence of past performance in similar projects and Bid price. The contract will be awarded to the Bidder deemed by the awarding authority to be the responsible and eligible Bidder submitting the lowest responsive Bid.
The Town reserves the right to waive any informalities, to accept or reject, in whole or in part any or all Bids, or take whatever other action may be deemed to be in the best interest of the Town.

2024 Seasonal Department of Public Works Positions
The Town of Provincetown is accepting applications for the following seasonal positions with the Department of Public Works:
Highway Department Laborer: F/T, 40 hours per week @ $20.16. Employment season starts approximately mid April and ends mid October. Two positions available.
Transfer Station/Sanitation Laborer: F/T, 40 hours per week @$20.16 Employment season starts approximately mid May and ends mid October. One position available.
Comfort Station Attendants, Municipal Parking Lot Restrooms: P/T and F/T positions available. The first hiring will be for 30 weeks @$20.16 per hour. Employment season is April 1st to November 1st. The second hiring will be for 20 weeks @$20.16 per hour. Employment season will be end of April to end of September
Fire House Comfort Station and Town Hall Public Bathroom Attendants: 20 weeks @ $20.16per hour Employment Season is May 1st to November 1st.
Beautification Maintenance: F/T, 40 hours per week for 28 weeks @$20.16 per hour. Employment season starts approximately mid May and ends mid October. Two positions available.
