Housing Director
The Town of Provincetown is now accepting applications for the full-time position of Housing Director. This full-time position is typically 40 hours per week. This position reports to the Town Manager, is responsible for leading initiatives that promote Provincetown’s housing goals and policies, manage our housing programs, advance projects to create long-term housing, and support economic sustainability. This is a non-union position with a scale of $100,000 to $130,000+. The position is available immediately and will remain open until filled. AFSCME – DPW/Water Department Meter Reader Repair Person
The Town of Provincetown is accepting applications for an opening in the Department of Public Works/Water Department or the position of Meter Reader Repair Person. This is a 40 hour per week position that is responsible for manual work in reading and repairing water meters, tests cross connection/backflow devices, as well as other related work as required.
This is a Grade 5, union position within the Town’s Compensation Plan. Pay starts at $ $57,651. The Provincetown Historic District Commission will hold a Public Hearing at 3:30 P.M. on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, in the Judge Welsh Room at Town Hall, 260 Commercial Street, Provincetown, MA.
Public Hearings will be held for the following applications requesting a Certificate to be issued in accordance with the Provincetown Historic District Commission established under the General By-Laws, Chapter 15 of the Town of Provincetown.

Application by Cass Benson requesting to replace a window on the structure located at 359 Commercial Street, U4.

Application by Matthew Brouillard requesting to extend a dormer by 3’ on the structure located at 8 Winslow Street.

This is a 40 hour a week positions that is responsible for the managing all financial aspects of the Water Department including bill pay, recordkeeping and scheduling as well as any and all other tasks as required or assigned. 2023 Annual Traffic Hearing Results
The Provincetown Select Board held a public hearing on Monday, November 6, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. in the Judge Welsh Room at Town Hall, 260 Commercial St., Provincetown, Massachusetts
02657 and then and there took action on the below listed proposals:
Citizen Proposals
Proposal 1: Approved a request by Karen Edlund and Barbara Fortier to remove the parking space at the corner of Montello and Commercial Street to facilitate a full turning radius for delivery trucks and large vehicles turning onto Commercial Street.
Proposal 2: Denied a request by Joel Harms to restrict large vehicle traffic on Atkins Lane by installing a “No Trucks”, Private Lane”, “Residents Only” sign or any other prohibitive signage.
Proposal 3: Denied a request by Brian DeLaurentis and Terry Catalano to remove parking space between 6 and 8 Pearl Street and install two parking spaces at Pearl Street and Bradford Street across from Admirals Landing Inn.
Proposal 4: Partially approved a request by Robert Henrique to prohibit parking on the south side of Nelson Avenue between 38 and 46 Nelson Avenue and install “No Parking this Side” signage in that area.
Proposal 5: Denied a request by Leonard E. Enos Jr. to install “15 Minute Parking” spaces along Lopes Square median.
Proposal 6: Denied a request by Doug Walker to limit traffic on Commercial Street to deliveries, residents and handicapped to create a more pedestrian and bike friendly street.
Staff Proposals
Proposal 7: Approved a request by the Provincetown Department of Public Works to remove parking spaces 554 and 555 on Winslow Street and install two spaces where parking kiosks were previously.
Proposal 8: Approved a request by the Parking Administrator to amend the Parking Regulations by increasing the fee for Work Permits to $20 and adding new definitions and restrictions as proposed.
Proposal 9: Approved a request by the Parking Administrator to amend the Parking Regulations to eliminate the Camper Lottery in the Jerome Smith Parking Lot.
Proposal 10: Denied a request by the Parking Administrator to extend the paid parking season from May 1 – October 31 to April 1 – October 31.
Proposal 11: Approved a request by the Parking Administrator to amend the Parking Regulations to allow the Senior Resident Parking Permit to expire every 4 years.
Proposal 12: Approved a request by the Parking Administrator to move the three Handicapped Accessible parking spaces in the back southeast side of the Macmillan Peir Lot to the front of the lot.
