The Provincetown Historic District Commission will hold a Public Hearing at 3:30 P.M. on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, in the Judge Welsh Room at Town Hall, 260 Commercial Street, Provincetown, MA.
Public Hearings will be held for the following applications requesting a Certificate to be issued in accordance with the Provincetown Historic District Commission established under the General By-Laws, Chapter 15 of the Town of Provincetown.
HDC 23-161
Application by David Soza requesting to remove an existing trellis fence and replace it with a new cedar white picket fence on the property located at 11 Alden Street.
HDC 23-162
Application by Ryan Pimentel requesting to remove and replace a shed on the property located at 16 Winslow Street.
HDC 23-163
Application by Ginny Binder, on behalf of 73 Commercial Street, LLC, requesting to raise a building by 4’ 7” and move it 2’ 5” to the south, to remove an exterior stair on the west elevation, to add new windows on the southwest corner, new wood railings and an egress stairway on the north and west elevations, cable railings with wood handrails on 3 decks, and a new deck access stairway on the south elevation, and to replace a brick chimney in kind on the property located at 73 Commercial Street.

Application by Adam Howard requesting to add handrails on a stairway from a parking area and on a stairway from the ground to a deck on the property located at 28 Bradford Street.

Application by Leif Hamnquist, on behalf of William L. Jorgenson, requesting to demolish an existing structure and construct a two-story structure in a slightly larger footprint with a new deck, new egress stairs, solar panels and skylights on the property located at 536 Commercial Street, U3.

Community Development Administrative Assistant.
The Town of Provincetown is now accepting applications for the full-time position of Community Development Administrative Assistant. This full-time position is typically 40 hours per week. This position provides direct support to the Community Development Department by assisting Customers, managing the departmental phone, filing and other administrative work in support of the Building, Health, Licensing, Planning and Conservation Divisions. This is a Grade 3, union position starting at 52,292. The position is available immediately and will remain open until filled. Jorgenson, seeking a Special Permit pursuant to Article 3, Sections 3110, Change, Extensions or Alterations, and 3115, Demolition and Reconstruction, of the Zoning By-Laws to demolish a pre-existing, non-conforming structure and to construct a new elevated structure to meet FEMA standards and with a larger footprint, and to construct a new landing and egress stair, creating further intrusion into a non-conforming rear setback on the property located at 536 Commercial Street, U3 (Residential 3 Zone).
