Public Notice
General Bylaw Chapter 11-6-6, Trees & Shrubs Obstructions in the Public Ways: In order to preserve and promote the safety of the public, no property owner shall permit any hedge, tree, brush or natural growth to encroach within the public way in a manner that becomes a physical or visual obstruction to any vehicle or pedestrian. All property owners are required to trim or remove such obstructions by Thursday, November 18, 2021 or the Department of Public Works will remove all obstructions without further notice. Questions should be directed to the Department of Public Works at 508-487-7060.

Historic District Commission
The Provincetown Historic District Commission will hold a Public Hearing at 3:30 P.M. on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, in the Judge Welsh Room at Town Hall, 260 Commercial Street, Provincetown, MA.
Public Hearings will be held for the following applications requesting a Certificate to be issued in accordance with the Provincetown Historic District Commission established under the General By-Laws, Chapter 15 of the Town of Provincetown.

West Vine Street Stormwater Improvements
The Town of Provincetown is seeking quotes for construction of a stormwater improvements project. Electronic copies of Quote Documents can be obtained from GHD Inc. after 2:00 p.m. on October 27, 2021, via email request to Craig Curtin at [email protected]. Plan holder must provide: plan holder name, business name, mailing address, email address, telephone number, and fax number. All questions shall be emailed to Craig Curtin with subject line West Vine Street Stormwater Improvements. DPW/Transfer Station & Recycling Center Working Foreman – AFSCME
The Town of Provincetown is accepting applications for a Working Forman position in the Department of Public Works/Transfer Station & Recycling Center Division. This position will be responsible for Administrative, technical and supervisory work in directing the operations of the Transfer Station/Recycling Center in accordance with the laws governing the transferring of Solid Wastes and Handling of Recycling; all other work as required. Also responsible for supervising six full-time year-round employees, 1 year-round part-time employee and one seasonal employee, for the Transfer Station and Sanitation Division.
DPW/Water Dept. Utility Billing Specialist – AFSCME
The Town of Provincetown is accepting applications for a Utility Billing Specialist position in the Department of Public Works Water Division. This position will be responsible for managing the Water Department utility billing program, prepares meter readings for billing and maintains overall integrity of the utility billing system.
DPW/ Buildings & Grounds Custodian – AFSCME
The Town of Provincetown is accepting applications for an opening in the Department of Public Works/Buildings & Grounds Division for VMCC Custodian. This is a 40 hour a week positions requiring overtime and shelter operations. Duties include vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, waxing floors, painting, simple repairs, assisting multiple departments with functions and any other related duties as may be required or assigned.
Library – Circulation Aide – Part Time
The Town of Provincetown is accepting Applications for the position of Part Time Circulation Aide. This position is responsible for technical and direct service work in connection with operations at the Public Library. The Circulation Aide responds to library user’s requests, questions and suggestions, performs all duties of Library circulation including answering telephone and other inquiries, checking in serials, negotiating reference questions, utilizing automated systems, registering patrons, receiving orders for books and processing materials, assists in the cataloging and processing of new library materials and in the removal of dated items, shelves library materials including books and periodicals, reads shelves and helps maintain collection, including periodicals, in proper order and is responsible for all other related work as required
