PUBLIC NOTICE TO ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE (EJ) COMMUNITIES
PROJECT: Cannery Wharf Park Project
LOCATION: 387 Commercial Street, Provincetown MA
PROPONENT: Town of Provincetown
Per Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act Environmental Notification Form submittal requirements for the above-mentioned project, all environmental justice communities must be notified within one mile of the project area adjacent to the property. The project proposes to convert a former parking lot into a waterfront, accessible, passive park. The project proposes to reshape the site to provide barrier-free movement from Commercial Street to the bay. Native vegetation will provide shade and buffer plantings between the park and neighbors. Seating and gathering areas will range between small groups and large open spaces. Paving will be pervious, and stormwater will be captured and infiltrated. Lastly, interpretive signate will communicate the site history and highlight the local flora and fauna specific to the beach ecosystem.
For questions regarding this project, please reach out to Megan Kearns at 978-548-6301 or by email: [email protected] between the hours of Mon-Fri 9AM – 5PM.
