Editor’s note: 75 years ago this week,the United States became the only country in the world to deploy nuclear weapons against civilians, dropping atomic bombs on the cities of Hiroshima(Aug.6, 1945) and Nagasaki, Japan (Aug.9, 1945), and killing some 200,000 people.The Cape Cod branch of the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom is commemorating these dates by offering origami peace cranes folded by hibakusha, survivors of the bombings and their friends.On the Outer Cape, the cranes are on display Aug. 6 to 9, during daylight hours, in Candace Perry’s front yard at 17 Chequessett Neck Road, Wellfleet
