WELLFLEET — The Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater announced on May 5 the cancellation of its 2020 summer season, in recognition of “the need to take a proactive stance to slow the spread of Covid-19.”
The announcement was made by Christopher Ostrom, executive director, in a release that was emailed on Tuesday as the Independent was going to press.
“WHAT is committed to resuming operations only when it is deemed safe and in the best interest of our community,” the release continued. The company’s management “remains engaged with state and local officials and their community partners in developing strategies for moving forward and re-opening in the safest manner possible.”
The cancellation will be covered thoroughly, along with a review of other Outer Cape theater and performance groups and their summer plans, in next week’s issue.
