Eleven residents have stepped up to run for eight seats on six town boards and committees, according to Town Clerk Nicole Tudor.
On the select board, it’s déjà vu: chair Susan Areson and vice chair Bob Weinstein are both running to keep their seats. Also tossing his cap back in the ring is John Dundas, the board’s former clerk, whose term ended last year. He did not seek re-election then.
Dundas isn’t looking to return to his seat on the three-member cemetery commission, though. That spot is now eyed by Truro Police Sergeant Thomas Roda.
Jack Riemer and Paul Kiernan are both hoping voters will keep them on the planning board. Joining the race is Harlen Howard, a Truro resident and co-owner of the cannabis dispensary Salty Farmers in North Eastham.
Elizabeth Gallo is seeking another term on the housing authority. Mary Abt wants to hold onto her spot on the board of library trustees, and she’s got some competition from Ann Courtney, chair of the beach advisory committee. Peter Cook is saying goodbye to the school committee; stepping up instead is Janina Richey, a paralegal who lives in Truro.
The town election is May 13. The deadline to register to vote in the election is May 3. There will be a table at town meeting that day for last-minute registrations. —Aden Choate
